Pears are a delicious autumn fruit. Most pears are in season from late autumn to mid winter and are rich because they contain minerals such as zinc, plus vitamins C and E and some B vitamins they are a great snack by themselves, but they can also be combined with a little cheese. The Italian tradition, for example, says you have to eat pears with pecorino.

When using them instead choose to use fresh cooked pears, try adding some almonds or vanilla essence to improve the taste. Another good idea is to mix mashed apple or pear into mashed vegetables such as carrots or squash to accompany a meal.

Blackberries are delicious on their own, if the sums to an apple pie or compote to serve with yogurt, for example, will enrich any proposal.

Plums are lovely as they come, but if you want to enhance them further evidence to soak a few slices with brandy and brown sugar … the results will surprise you.
